I’m the creator behind Ham Radio Rookie. This is where I share my adventures in amateur radio: building antennas, trying unusual materials, testing gear, and learning from the things that don’t quite go to plan.

My work in film special effects and props has given me plenty of reasons to ask, “Could we make that?” Ham radio gives that same curiosity another place to play.

Experimenting is the point.

From foil tape and fabric antennas to an antenna made from a ham tin, these projects start with a question and head to the workbench. The channel focuses on practical tests and real-world operation, including portable and limited-space setups.
