I wanted a Morse code practice tool that worked with the way I learn, so I built CW Studio. In this walkthrough, I show how I use it to practise listening and sending, adjust the pace, and work on connecting the sounds with letters and words.

Practise in your browser

CW Studio brings receiving, sending, and passive listening into one browser-based workspace. You can work on recognising characters, practise sending them, and follow your progress as you go.

Speed and spacing are part of finding a useful practice rhythm. Character speed controls the timing within each character, while Farnsworth spacing gives you more room between characters. Adjusting those separately lets you work with the sound of Morse while leaving yourself time to recognise it.

Listening without a score

Passive listening gives you another way to spend time with Morse. Choose letters, words, or sentences and listen without typing an answer. Spoken support can help connect the sound with what you are hearing, then fade over repeated plays.

This is an option to experiment with alongside active practice. Try it and see how it fits the way you learn.

Sending with a keyboard or paddle

The walkthrough also covers sending practice and using a USB paddle interface. A physical paddle needs an interface that produces keyboard events the app can recognise; the sending-key settings let you choose which keys to use.

If you want to explore the dongle, Ham Radio Solutions lists its USB Paddle Interface under the Store tab on its VBand page:
